瀬戸黒茶垸 Chawan, Seto-guro

志野と同じく評価された瀬戸黒の技法でも人間国宝の認定をうけている豊藏先生。
その瀬戸黒は、穏やかでじんわりするような優しい味のあるものである。
元来あるような筒形ではなく、先生独特の碗形の造形は、荒川豊藏先生の象徴的なものかもしれない。
鮮やかに光沢のある部分と失透している部分とが折り重なる釉に、見込側面の土みせなど変化に富んだ茶碗である。

He was designated as a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) for Seto-guro, as well as Shino.
His Seto-guro has warm and gentle feeling in his original rounded cylindrical shape. The tea bowl has full of tasteful expression such as where glossy, opaque black, or mixed texture, willful unglazed area inside, and so on.
