飴釉窯変花生 Vase, Brown Glazed

10代の頃から、古陶磁の研究に没頭し作陶を試みた嶺男先生。とりわけ古瀬戸に関しては、本歌にせまる勢いであった。古瀬戸には、灰釉や鉄釉があり、飴釉もその種のものである。
本格的に独立作陶を始めると、古典的な作風から脱却し、他の作り手の追随をゆるさない作品を生み出していく。
この作品は、昭和35年頃の作であろうか。
独特の造形感覚、飴釉の窯変した流れには、一瞬見惚れてしまう存在感がある。
畳付に「嶺」の刻印。

The artworks is by OKABE Mineo who immersed himself in studying old ceramics as a potter. Especially Old Seto he made were just like the real ones in the old age. There are ash glazed, iron glazed, and “Ame-Yu”, glazed on this artwork, is one of iron glazes with little iron component. After become independent, he made himself free from traditional style and pursued his original aesthetics. This works might have been made in 1960. It has some strong sense of forming and glazing. There is his signature at the foot.
