Exhibition 【今井瑠衣子展】 Exhibition of Imai Ruiko

　真鍮の網で骨格を成形し、ガラスを焼き付けることで生まれる日常の道具達。その姿は単なる写実表現ではなく、道具達と共にあった生活の記憶が蓄積され、そこから形が生まれたようにも感じる。
　淡く儚げでありながらも、確固たる姿を主張する道具達は、確かにかつて生活の一部として存在したもの達である。
　また今井は、道具自体が経年変化と共に、持ち主の体温をうつすかの様に「所有物」へと変わる姿と、焼成を通じた制作過程の素材の形状変化が、どこか重なると語る。
　作者の持ち物が作品に昇華され、我々に手渡されたとき、今後どのようにその姿が「変容」するのだろうか。

She makes tools in daily life, in which she forms a sheet of brass mesh, and pastes the fine grained glass mixed with adhesive substance and fires it in a kiln. It is not just a replica of the models, but a memory of her life with those tools, from which the design would be produced. Fragile, but confident the tools seem to be: it certainly was in our lives.

The process of the tool becoming “the possession of the owner” as aging with transferring his body temperature and the creating process of changing the shape of the materials seems to overlap, she says.
It is fun to imagine how it would change the atmosphere, after her tools come to us and will be handed to you.
