Tea bowl, tenmoku 天目碗

鷓鴣斑（しゃこはん）や、柿釉、黒刷毛目など、鉄釉系の美しい作品を数々残された宗麿先生。
本作品もその宗麿先生独特の洗練された色合いの鉄釉を掛けた天目茶碗となっている。

全体は見る角度、光線の具合により青味の掛かる漆黒色にも、赤味の混じった深い黒檀色にも見える複雑な表情の「黒」。
口縁や轆轤目、小さな土の起伏により釉が薄くなった部分は、しっとりと落ち着き溢れる赤味とも黄味とも言える褐色の「代赭色(たいしゃいろ)」となっている。

シンプルな作りのお茶碗でありながら、宗麿先生にしか出せない雰囲気が滲み出た逸品となっている。

やや明るい茶色。茶色より赤みと黄色みが少し強い。
赤土は別名「赭」ともいい、中国代州で産出する赤土が有名だったことからこの名がついた。

Munemaro Ishiguro created so many beautiful works of Syako-han (feather-like pattern), Tenmoku with Kaki glaze, and brushed black slip design. This art work has Tenmoku glaze with his characteristic iron color.

His black creates so many faces by the effect of various lights; sometimes it looks like bluish jet black, and sometimes reddish, and the rim of the tea bowl, wheel-line, and where the glaze is thinly covered look more ocherish or orangish than brown.

It is a simple tea bowl, yet great work that his energy and the characteristic atmosphere overflow from it.
