絵瀬戸鳥文一文字皿 Dish

あえて轆轤は使わずに、魯山人がタタラで制作した手作りのされた高台の皿。
筆にたっぷりと含んだ鬼板の絵がしっかりと高温で焼かれ、艶やかに現れている格子の向こうに一羽の雀が描かれているのだろうか、鉄絵の濃淡があたりを見渡す鳥の動きを生き生きとさせている。

He deliberately did not use hand wheeling, but made from slab-building, Tatara, with high base. The lines are drawn with thick and heavy iron brush, and then fired at high temperature. You can see a sparrow beyond the impressive crossed line. The gradation of iron color gives the bird moving like lively and cheerfully looking around.
