【特別展 陶人】 Special Exhibition ‘SUEBITO’
開催期間：2019年10月11日(金) ～ 2019年10月15日(火)Exhibition : October 11 to October 15, 2019
「陶人」は陶工を指す言葉。今回は「人」を表現したやきものを陶人とし、
古代から現代に至るまでの作品を取り揃えました。日本では桃山陶以降、
茶陶が作陶の最上とされてきた。だがそれよりも以前、仏教が伝来する
よりもずっと前から信仰の一環として土偶や埴輪が作られた。その様な風習は
日本だけではなく、差異はあれど世界中様々な時代で窺える。
眺めていくほどに深みを感じる作品を是非当苑にてご高覧ください。
SUEBITO, “陶人”, originally means potters. In this exhibition, defining the word as Pottery Figurine, we have selected artworks from ancient to the present.
Since Momoyama period, items for tea ceremony have been the supreme in pottery making. However, ancient potters had been made Dogu, earthen figure, and Haniwa, burial mound figure, as a part of their religious life long before the Buddhism was introduced in Japan. But also in the world, you can see these cultural habits in some histories.
