【古を想う 中野欽二郎展】Exhibition of NAKANO Kinjiro

土を砕いて捏ねる。ロクロを蹴って形にする。灰を漉し釉を拵え薪を割って数日掛けて焼き上げる。
田を耕し苗を植え、丹念に草を取り米を収穫する。そんな毎日を過ごしているとごく稀に自然の一部になれたり古代人の心に触れられたりする時が現れる。
ときどきやって来るそんな嬉しさが物を産み出す原動力かもしれない。

“Break down the clay and knead it. Mould it by kicking the potter’s wheel. Filter the ash and make the glaze. Chop wood and fire the works for a few days.
I, also cultivate the rice-fields, plant the seedlings, remove weeds carefully and harvest rice. By spending such days, there are times that I can become a part of nature and touch the mind of the ancient people. These pleased moments that sometimes appear could be the motivation for my creation. ”
You will find the affection to nature that comes from NAKANO Kinjiro’s Farmer-Potter lifestyle in his unique works.
