一見何事もないような画面は時間が経てば経つほど長男先生の仕事内容の充実さが見えてくる。 この年代になると 1950年代の幾何学的な形も垂直も水平も格子も太い線や丸も、60年代の矩形との鬩ぎ合いもなくなり、地色の黒(プルシャン・ブルー)が消えて色面の拡がりの表現も出てくる。 この作品は中央に入れられた線に向かって他の部分が少し沈み込んで均衡が保たれているかのような構図になっている。
The more time passes, the more we can see the fullness of Takeo’s work in this seemingly uneventful screen. By this age, the geometric shapes, verticals, horizontals, grids, thick lines and circles of the 1950s, and the rivalry with rectangles of the 1960s had disappeared, and the expression of the expansion of the color surface comes forward instead of the black (Prussian blue) of the ground color. In this artwork, the composition seems to maintain equilibrium with the other parts sinking slightly toward the line in the center.
